Horse & Hound

July 12, 2008 was the annual Kids with Cancer Jump for Hope event at Amberlea Meadows. This year I got to play in the Horse & Hound event and made my public debut. At the event the people get to bet on which team of horse and dog will get the best combined score. The pot is split 50% to the winner and 50% to the charity. A pretty good deal and a lot of fun. When they saw me walking around they all laughed and thought it was funny how tiny I was and were teasing each other that they might be paired up with me. Little did they know. I ran the third fastest time but had a super slow horse so we finished 9th. Too bad. Even though I came in 9th I got my very first ribbon for agility. It is bigger than me but very pretty. My mom has officially started my wall of fame at the shop.

My First Flyball Tournament

Have you ever experienced a rush to great that you never come down from the high? I think I just did that playing in my first flyball tournament ever! I LOVE FLYBALL!!! My mom was very worried about other dogs wanting to chase me down but I told her I am a big girl and can handle myself. I have always had fun at practice but getting out into the actual racing lanes was so exhilarating. I found this very high pitched scream inside me and couldn't stop letting it out. My mother thought it was a horrible noise but quite entertaining none the less. Check out the video of my debut below.

Agility Camp

I attended my first agility camp at the end of June, with Terry Simons, Kim Anderson and Cheryl Bartlett and I sure had a good time. Working on agility for three days straight was so much fun. The theme of the camp was Vegas so the handlers were allowed to "bet" on the positives of each others turns. Whenever I was up everybody in our group put all their money on the table in hoped of doubling their money. I did my best not to disappoint. The last bet of the weekend on me was for $10,000. Yikes! Things did not go as well as planned and they lost their money. Easy come, easy go they say. There was a trial on the last day but I am still to young to play but I should would have enjoyed it. In August, I am off to Dana Pike to learn some more great things.
